Karlee Adams is a Case Manager at Engage Young Adult Transitions, a young adult transition program in Cedar City, Utah. She has been part of the Engage team for more than a year, beginning as a Life Coach before transitioning into Case Management. Karlee is currently completing her Bachelor of Science in Psychology through Western Governors University, with an expected graduation year of 2029.
Before joining Engage, Karlee gained experience working with adolescents in a residential treatment setting focused on trauma care. Her training includes mental health, crisis intervention, trauma-informed care, CPR, First Aid, naloxone (Narcan) administration, and leadership. As she continues her education, she is especially interested in learning more about autism and neurodiversity, trauma, OCD and anxiety, and addictions.
At Engage, Karlee works alongside young adults in their everyday environments to help translate treatment goals into practical, real-world action. She supports young adults in developing life skills, routines, organization, executive functioning, education and employment skills, communication, emotional regulation, problem-solving, decision-making, relationships, and greater independence. Her approach focuses on practicing skills alongside young adults, breaking larger goals into manageable steps, and gradually stepping back as they develop confidence and the ability to manage more independently.
Karlee believes meaningful progress comes from helping young adults identify their own motivation, make informed choices, and take ownership of their goals. She builds connection through genuineness, consistency, meeting young adults where they are without judgment, and following through. Her goal is to support autonomy rather than dependence while providing accountability and encouragement when a young adult feels stuck or overwhelmed.
Karlee collaborates with therapists, Life Coaches, academic and vocational staff, families, and other members of the Engage team to translate shared treatment goals into day-to-day experiences. She is particularly passionate about the transition into adulthood and helping young adults develop identity, autonomy, and independent living skills after years of structured support while discovering their own goals, dreams, and aspirations.
Outside of work, Karlee is very family-oriented and enjoys spending time with her children and family. She loves being outdoors, especially activities involving water, as well as animals, live music, travel, art, and creativity. She hopes to bring three things to her work every day: genuineness, support, and empowerment.
